Why should you rebuild, download, and reinstall the SwiftK12 plugin?
Any time additional fields are mapped in SwiftK12, the new data needs to be downloaded from PowerSchool. The new SwiftK12 plugin has to be rebuilt containing the new data we need to access. Essentially, the new plugin is installed, SwiftK12 syncs with PowerSchool, and the system then downloads the additional data. It works the same for deleting contact fields or merge fields. We need to remove the data we no longer need to access.
When should you rebuild, download, and reinstall the SwiftK12 plugin?
Any time you make changes to the Contact Field Mappings page or the Merge Fields page in SwiftK12, you will need to rebuild, download, and reinstall the SwiftK12 plugin. 
How to Download a New SwiftK12 Plugin
- In SwiftK12, click on the Settings button on the SwiftK12 home page.
- Click on Contact Field Mappings under System Settings.
- Click the Rebuild Plugin button to save the plugin .zip to a location on your computer.
How to Reinstall the SwiftK12 Plugin
The SwiftK12 plugin must be rebuilt and saved as a full zip file to your computer.
- From your PowerSchool home page on the left-hand navigation pane, there will be a header titled: Setup. Under this header, choose System.
- Scroll towards the bottom of the page to the Server section and select System Settings.
- On the next page in the middle of the screen, choose Plugin Management Configuration.
- On the bottom of the page, you must first disable then delete the current SwiftReach SwiftK12 Alerting Plugin. Do not delete the SwiftK12 Plugin without first downloading a new one as outlined in the How to Download a New SwiftK12 Plugin section.
- On top of the page choose Install, click Choose File- choose the new plug in .zip file from your computer and then click install. A popup box will say- Loading. Do not try to install an unzipped folder. The SwiftK12 Plugin must be installed as a .zip file.
- Click Register on the bottom right of the Plugin Registration pop up box, a box will pop up saying Loading.
- The Registration Results box will pop up on the bottom right click on OK.
- *A red warning about a time difference is normal and does not negatively affect the plugin.
- On the Plugin Management Dashboard page, scroll down to the bottom and check off the Enable/ Disable box where it says Swiftreach SwiftK12 Alerting.
- On the Enable Plug inbox click on Enable on the bottom right of the box, this will bring you back to the Plugin Management Dashboard screen.
Do you have to run a Sync after you rebuild, download, and reinstall the SwiftK12 plugin?
Yes. The best practice is to run a sync after you rebuild and download the SwiftK12 plugin. To run your Sync- follow the steps below.
- Click on the word Start Page under The PowerSchool logo on the top left.
- Click on SwiftReach SwiftK12.
- From your SwiftK12 home page click on Settings on the top right of the page, under System Settings click on Contact Field Mappings.
- Click on the Sync Data button on the top right of the page.
