When sending an email alert through Swift911, our system is using the From Email address you provide or the account default.
Instead of the email coming from an IP address typically associated with your From Email's domain, it is coming from one of our many IP addresses which handle email correspondence through Swift911.
Some email carriers notice that the IPs being used in Swift911 emails do not match the one(s) from your domain, and will move the email to a Spam or Junk folder as a result. In extreme cases, it will put the email in quarantine. This is to avoid potential email spoofers from assuming someone else's identity and sending emails, but some email carriers occasionally over-correct and negatively impact email messages even if the sender is legitimate.
There are a few ways around this. The first thing you will want to do is whitelist our IP addresses, and add them to the SPF Record for your domain. Additionally, you'll want to make sure that you are always using a valid From Email address to send your messages (one that is using the same domain). These measures should minimize any email delivery issues experienced due to carrier spam filters within a couple of days of making the change.
Here are the IP addresses you will want to whitelist, and include in the SPF Record:
- 70.36.20.116
- 67.23.62.36
- 67.23.61.36
- 208.64.181.100
- 205.237.106.3
An alternative to adding the individual IP addresses to the SPF record would be for you to add the following instead:
include:swiftreach.com
If you have any questions about how to do this, you will need to contact your IT department or domain manager.
